Top 5 Questions About Micro Infusion, Answered - Seranova

These are the five questions we're asked most about micro infusion.

The answers draw on our own customer survey, the board-certified dermatologists who recommend it, and more than 500,000 customers.

1. What is micro infusion, and how is it different from a roller?

Micro infusion is a stamp, not a roller. You press the applicator gently onto your skin, then lift it away. Its ultra-fine, cosmetic-grade touchpoints help the serum absorb more effectively than smoothing it on with your fingers.

Nothing is dragged across your face, and that's the real difference. A roller travels over the surface of your skin, while a stamp goes straight down and comes straight back up. That matters more as skin starts to feel thinner and more delicate with age.

The serum isn't an afterthought either. With a roller, whatever you put on afterward is up to you. With The Micro Infusion System™, the serum comes sealed in a single-use vial that loads into the applicator. The full list is on the product page, and these are the ones people ask about:

  • Five peptides. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, the pairing known as Matrixyl 3000™, plus Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-11 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9.
  • Sodium hyaluronate, the form of hyaluronic acid used in the serum.
  • Niacinamide, third on the ingredient list.
  • Glycerin, panthenol, acetyl glucosamine and trehalose, the hydrating side of the formula.

It's also more hygienic. A roller has to be washed and dried between every use, and that step is easy to cut short. Here there's nothing to clean, because nothing gets used twice. Each session opens a new sterile head and a fresh dose of serum, and both are thrown out afterward.

2. Does it hurt, and will I look red afterward?

Most people find it comfortable. In our own customer survey, 82% experienced no pain and 86% needed no recovery time.

Based on a self-reported survey of 282 Seranova customers.

A little redness afterward is normal, and it normally does not last.

3. How long until I see a difference around my mouth?

For many of our customers, this is the real question. The fine vertical lines on your upper lip, the creases running down from the corners of your mouth, the ones that show up in photographs first. That area moves all day, so it's usually slower to change than your cheeks or forehead.

It happens in two stages. Hydration comes quickly. In our customer survey, 72% saw results from day one.

The look of lines takes longer.

  • 78%

    saw a reduction in wrinkles

  • 80%

    saw improved firmness

  • 78%

    looked younger

  • 86%

    needed no recovery time

Based on a self-reported survey of 282 Seranova customers.

Most users report hydration within a day. For the lines around your mouth, allow six to twelve weeks.

One practical thing to know. The Micro Infusion System™ is for use on your face, neck, lips and chest, so the lip border is included. Keep about 1.5 inches away from your eyes.

4. Is it safe for mature or sensitive skin?

Yes. Here's the evidence.

It is:

  • Dermatologically tested by Dermatest and graded Excellent, June 2025
  • Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested
  • Tested on sensitive skin, and gentle enough for all skin types
  • Vegan, cruelty free, sulfate and paraben free, with a patented needle head

Hygiene counts here too. Every session opens a new sterile head and a fresh sealed dose of serum, and both are thrown out afterward. Nothing is ever reused.

Seven board-certified dermatologists are named on seranova.com with their credentials, so you can look them up. Dr. Brittany Lenz, who trained at the University of Virginia and is now a partner at Dermatology San Antonio, says:

There are times to hold off. The system isn't recommended if you have an active skin condition such as rosacea, eczema or active acne. Wait at least two weeks after cosmetic injections. Patch test first if your skin reacts easily. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, scar easily or react to metals, speak with a qualified skincare professional before using any at-home device.

5. How do I know it works?

Three things stand behind The Micro Infusion System™, and every one of them can be looked up.
